Beard Transplantation

Beard Transplantation

Beard transplantation is usually carried out for men who are concerned about hair loss or lack of intensive growth in the beard area. Some men grow a beard following the fashion trends, others — in order to hide scars or flaws on the face.

Who Needs a Beard Transplant?

The operation is performed on patients with good health, with the hair thick enough in the donor area on the back of the head and want to get rid of patchy spots in their beard.

Side effects

  • Infection
  • Scars
  • Sensory loss

The Procedure

In beard transplantation uses the same technique as in hair transplantation. Single follicular compounds consisting of one or two hairs are extracted from the donor area on the back of the head and transplanted into microscopic holes along the cheek or lower jaw line.

After Beard Transplant Surgery

Minor skin irritation may occur within a few days after the procedure. After transplantation it is possible that the patient loses the transplanted hair, but the transplanted follicles remain in the skin and after three months, new hair appears in the beard area.
