Preparing for facelift surgery

It is strongly recommended to reduce the number of cigarettes smoked at least 3 weeks before the facelift surgery.

Refrain from taking medications, e.x. Aspirin.

It is strongly recommended not to drink or eat after the time prescribed by the doctor 1 day before surgery. Prepare comfortable shoes and casual clothing before going to the clinic.

It is preferable to choose loose clothing to ensure that you do not experience discomfort during surgery. Do not use cosmetics. We can provide you with a transfer from the hotel to the clinic on the day of the operation.

During Facelift

First, the plastic surgeon makes an incision in the temporal region, then moves in the direction of wrinkles under the earlobe and the back of the ear and ends behind the hairline. The skin is gently lifted to move and strengthen the corresponding muscles and connective tissues. In certain cases, it is possible to remove fat and excess skin.

During this operation on men, incision is made on the line of natural growth of the beard. In most cases, incisions are made in places where they coincide with the natural lines of the skin of the face, in order to hide possible traces and scars. After removing the excess skin, the plastic surgeon applies a thin seam or metal staples to the incision.

At the end of the operation, the surgeon will apply a bandage to fully protect the area in which the cuts were made.

After operation

You will need to spend the night in the clinic after surgery. Our doctors will examine your face and sutures and tell you about the general rules of care for the seams that remained after the operation, and the use of supporting bandages.

Avoid taking aspirin and anti-inflammatory drugs for several days after surgery. It is necessary to refrain from active and passive smoking, in order to avoid slowing the healing process.

Swelling after a facelift can go away for several months. Postoperative scars will disappear after 6 months. During the entire recovery period, avoid solar irradiation to achieve the desired result.
